Convert an amount between currencies using the exchange rate you enter. Simple, private and works in your browser.
Enter the current exchange rate yourself. This tool does not fetch live rates.
Convert an amount between currencies using the exchange rate you enter. The tool does not fetch live rates, so you stay in control of the rate you use.
Type the amount, the exchange rate and the two currency codes. The rate means how many units of the target currency you get for one unit of the source currency.
Converted amount = amount × exchange rate
100 USD at a rate of 0.92 EUR per USD equals 92 EUR.
The result is the converted amount using your rate. Because you supply the rate, you can reproduce the rate your bank, card or exchange office actually quoted.
Entering the rate upside down. If 1 USD buys 0.92 EUR, use 0.92 for USD to EUR, and 1.087 for EUR to USD.
Exchange rates move every second and no free, fixed, published number can be trusted to match what your bank finally charges. This converter therefore treats the rate as an input: you take the quote from the source you trust — your bank's app, a card's conversion preview, a financial data page — and see the arithmetic cleanly, with no hidden spread pretending to be maths. That makes it the right tool for checking a foreign invoice, budgeting a trip at a cautious rate, and reproducing exactly the conversion a counterparty performed.
What it cannot do: predict tomorrow's rate, include card fees (add them as a percentage on a second pass), or choose which side of a two-way quote to enter. Direction is the whole mistake-maker here — "0.92" as EUR per USD is not the same operation as "1.087" USD per EUR, and reading the rate backwards multiplies instead of dividing.
Problem: you bring 240 EUR on holiday and see a rate of 1.0950 USD per EUR; your card also charges a 2.5% conversion fee.
That last line is the whole lesson: fees and spreads make the real rate slightly worse than the quoted one, so a budget built on the quoted rate alone always lands optimistic.
Three illustrative rate levels and what each does to an amount:
| Amount | × 0.920 | × 1.095 | × 1.250 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100 | 92.00 | 109.50 | 125.00 |
| 400 | 368.00 | 438.00 | 500.00 |
| 1,500 | 1,380.00 | 1,642.50 | 1,875.00 |
The rates here are inventions for orientation. Real rates come from your bank, card, cash exchange or a market data page, entered into the tool as you see them.
Check your bank, a card provider or a financial news site, and enter the rate here.
Banks and card providers often add margins or fees to the market rate.
300 × 1.17 = 351.00 USD.
Deducting the fee leaves 630 × 0.985 = 620.55 received on the other side.
120 × 0.86 = 103.20 EUR. Multiply when the rate states how much target currency one unit of your money is worth.
1 ÷ 1.12 = 0.8929. Do the division once and reuse the inverted rate instead of eyeballing ratios.
