Convert temperatures between Celsius, Fahrenheit and Kelvin instantly. Free online temperature converter.
Converts between the three temperature scales.
Convert temperatures between Celsius, Fahrenheit and Kelvin. Handy for cooking, weather and science.
Enter a temperature, pick the scale it is in and the scale you want. The tool rejects temperatures below absolute zero.
°F = °C × 9/5 + 32; K = °C + 273.15
25 °C = 77 °F = 298.15 K.
The result is rounded to four decimal places. The quick table shows the same conversion for round values like 0, 10, 100 and 1,000.
Multiplying by 1.8 without adding 32. Temperature scales have different zero points, so a simple multiplier is not enough.
Temperature is the one conversion family where a simple multiplier fails: the scales have different zero points, so C↔F needs an offset and Kelvin needs no offset at all. That is why 25°C is 77°F, not 45 — and why this page rejects anything below absolute zero (−273.15 °C), the number no scale reaches whatever the screen says.
Use it for three everyday jobs: reading a foreign recipe (oven temperatures swap almost weekly between °C and °F), understanding weather abroad, and checking health thermometer readings against confident reference points. It is not a substitute for a food thermometer's own display accuracy, and nobody should trust a single °C↔°F figure blindly for lab work — but for cooking and weather it is the reliable everyday rule.
Problem: a baking recipe says 210°C, but your oven dial is marked in Fahrenheit.
Both directions live on this page, so the return trip 410 °F → 210 °C works without separate arithmetic.
| Point | °C | °F | K |
|---|---|---|---|
| Absolute zero | −273.15 | −459.67 | 0 |
| Water freezes | 0 | 32 | 273.15 |
| Comfortable room | 20 | 68 | 293.15 |
| Core body temperature | 37 | 98.6 | 310.15 |
| Water boils | 100 | 212 | 373.15 |
| Common oven setting | 180 | 356 | 453.15 |
Two anchors carry most everyday use: freezing and body temperature. Everything else interpolates between them.
They are equal at −40 degrees.
Absolute zero is 0 K, or −273.15 °C, the lowest possible temperature.
−25 × 1.8 + 32 = −13 °F. The formula works cleanly below freezing, where mental shortcuts fail.
(50 − 32) ÷ 1.8 = 10 °C — a cool autumn day once the offset is handled.
300 − 273.15 = 26.85 °C, warm room temperature; that is why 300 K appears so often in science writing.
One hundred Celsius degrees span the same range as 180 Fahrenheit degrees (0–100 vs 32–212), and 180 ÷ 100 = 1.8.
